AUS Divers Assist with Historic Pier Rehabilitation on Seattle Waterfront:

Divers from Associated Underwater Services (AUS) assisted the Pier Rehabilitation Project on Seattle’s historic Pier 57. AUS divers replaced deteriorated timber piles with steel stubs, thus improving the structural strength and integrity of the historic pier. The work was performed for Manson Construction and the Pier 57 Corporation between May through August of 2010. Built in 1905, Pier 57 was once the terminus for the Milwaukee & Chicago Railroad and is where the first ships from Japan and the Alaskan gold rush arrived in Seattle. This project adds to AUS’ extensive experience in the rehabilitation, protection, and repair of timber, steel and concrete piles.
