Central Premix operates their cranes in the Spokane Aquafer 16 hours per day to remove gravel from the aquafer to use in their cement mixture. One of the Clamshell buckets on a crane had become inoperable and stuck in the Aquafer. AUS was called in to investigate the situation and deployed a VLBV ROV to determine what the cause was. After the ROV inspection it was determined that a large boulder had fallen onto the Clamshell after grabbing a section of gravel. AUS then deployed lift bags to apply 3000lbs of upward force to displace the boulder and allow the Crane to lift the Clamshell out of the water.
