AUS Diving was contracted to retrieve three pressure relief panels that had fallen from the Hungry Horse Dams withdrawal system. The Hungry Horse Field Office of the Bureau of Reclamation, is a key project in the Department of the Interior`s long-range program for multiple purpose development of the water resources of the vast Columbia River drainage basin. The facility is located in Hungry Horse, MT and includes the Hungry Horse Dam and Reservoir and Hungry Horse Powerplant.
The 150 pound, 50“ x 25” panels had been wedged in place at 240 feet depth (270 feet theoretical). Utilizing divers and a ROV AUS was able to successfully retrieve all panels ahead of schedule and without incident.
