The Borman Park Intake in Gary, Indiana, is comprised of a land drop shaft and subterranean tunnel that terminates in a riser intake structure one mile offshore of Lake Michigan. The riser was installed in a drilled shaft which connects the tunnel to the intake structure, allowing water to be drawn from the lake.
AUS duties included the mobilization of crane and drill barges, heavy rigging and lifts, installation and removal of platform, dredging, setting casing, installation and operation of casing top drill system, assembly of mud tank system, assembly and installation of the riser, and demobilization of the systems at project completion.
